Here is some background on our demolition and reconstruction. We started by gutting the basement and then proceeded to work on the main floor. Meanwhile we were busy working with an architect to get plans done for the new house. This process took a long time so we had to hold up on the demolition till we knew what stayed and what went. In the end we realized that it had to be leveled to the original subfloor and rebuilt from there.
