The demolition of the house had moments of immense reward. The thrill of crashing slabs of drywall, the crack of shattering wood and the resounding thud as a 100 kg chunk of wall tumbles into the dumpster... priceless. For paying to have six 30 yard dumpsters hauled away, well we used visa. But demolition is still following the curve downward taking things apart to get ready to build back up. Eventually we hit the bottom of the curve and start to build back up. The work is naturally exhausting and sometimes the need to rest leads to indiscriminate choices of locations.
But piece by piece the walls came down and were deposited with varying degrees of ceremony into the dumpsters as we move from a pile of rubble to a bare floor to rebuild from.
